In the midst of storms there is always one person who guides the community to a more hopeful future and that kind yet powerful person, who is from Raleigh NC is a beautiful woman by the name of Ashley Jordan.

She started her passion for fashion, when her mother signed her up for classes with John Casablanca. Of course, the excitement and nervousness showed because she was so young and unsure of what she liked, but she eventually found a bit more balance through runway practices and make up classes.

 

The beauty of life is that Inspiration can come from strangers. So, throughout her life people told her that she is beautiful, confident and that she has a great personality. Then, in September of 2019 she decided to become a freelance model. As we know the beauty standards in the fashion industry have become less restrictive, but there are still many challenges for those with unique qualities.

 

There are many ways to get your toes wet in the fashion industry, and when she began modeling, she admits she didn’t know much, but she found it easy to learn once she did her research and put what she learned to the test.

We often have dreams and goals that we desire to pursue but that does not stop us from our other responsibilities. Her daughter was about 5 when she started modeling, but she didn’t find it hard to move forward with her goals because she had a great support system. But, when she had her son two years ago, it became difficult to handle a new baby and her modeling career. So, she put her modeling career on hold to be a mother and give her kids her undivided attention.

 

So far in her career she has walked in eight fashion shows, and she absolutely loved each experience! Her most memorable fashion show was for an amazing designer by the name of Hippy Ky. She is a young designer in the Greensboro area. The show was at The Elsewhere Museum in downtown Greensboro. In Ashley’s review, not only was this location amazing but the performances and audience left her speechless. Surprisingly, the designer fitted and styled her right before the show actually started!  She was honored to be a part of such a creative, artistic, and original opportunity.

In that experience and others, she was led to one of her biggest career accomplishments which was coordinating a fashion show platform created by: Dewayne Hinnant called: Beauty is Pain. The show was a domestic violence awareness event presented by the I Am Enough Body Confidence Movement. The show was meant to not only bring awareness to domestic violence but to also celebrate those who have survived those types of traumatic experiences.

Pierre Fleming: A Hidden R & B Legend

You may not have known but NC has many amazing talents and this singer/ songwriter and or Artist: Pierre Fleming, who was born and raised in Wilson NC is one of the hidden Legends. He is highly devoted to music, and he shares a passion for video production & photography.

 

His current single is called SHOW ME which was released in 2021 along with his EP entitled Seven Vibes. The inspiration that motivated him to create the pair was based on past experiences. He witnessed relatable perspectives through the eyes of others and wanted to vibe along with topics that would captivate his audience.  

He always had the ability to sing yet at the age of 18 he started writing his own songs because he didn’t know of any dedicated songwriters. In the beginning of his career, he started with many local indie concerts. He even won a first-place award in a local competition in 2014. He stayed inspired by all the prominent singers of that time; MJ, R Kelly, Usher, Tyrese, Joe just to name a few and each Artist had a different element that he liked, which shows in his music today.

We listen to Artist collaborations every day. The Artists go on tour, end up on billboards, and magazines together. So Wait! Wait! before you continue reading go check out one of Pierre Flemings' songs then close your eyes just for a minuet and imagine reading a flyer with the names: Pierre Fleming and H.E.R ( 5 time grammy winner) on the cover. The harmonies are undeniable and with such a smooth connected sound and relatable lyrics from both parties there is no other choice but to sit back and listen.

An Artist collaboration is just one door. There are many unique opportunities for him to be successful. We will hear more songs, see more music videos and live performances. He also wants to eventually start his own label and sign his own artists. You never know you could be the next big thing to blow up on his label, so keep your ear to the streets!
