Chris Helton: God Given Talent for Art

Chris Helton was born and raised in Wendell North Carolina. When he was about five years old his mother told him that he had a “God given talent” for drawing and ever since then it has become one of his biggest passions!  

Young Young Years

His first drawing was of the MIB (men in black) He showed it to his teacher in elementary school and she absolutely loved it! When he started into his pre-teens, he heard about an amazing tattoo Artist named KatVonD and she became his biggest inspiration.

Current Years

He took a break from Art to pursue other avenues but since he’s gotten back into art he’s been really polishing his work and getting into more realistic based art which made him want to get into the tattoo business. The tattoo world intrigued him so much, that he started acquiring some of his own tattoo equipment so he could really make creating tattoos a career!

He’s had more than 40 people ask about his work. He’s told them only what he can do legally now until he gets his license to do permanent tattoos. He is practicing for Realism Tattoos and specializing in every aspect of it. He shares that one of the best things about art and the most challenging part is the next project and how intense it can be but he loves being challenged.  He says even when he hits a road block he still keeps striving and improvising to the best of his ability. He doesn’t consider himself a tattoo artist because he have yet to do any live skin but he’s still practicing and still striving towards his goal. He is staying positive and working hardcore towards becoming a professional realism tattoo artist.

 Advice He Would Give

"If I knew someone else was wanting to make Drawing a Career, I’d say go for it and do your best because life is too short to waste your talent, hard work, and labor you put towards something, So I say Do it !!"

Upcoming Projects and Other Hobbies

Chris Helton is also a Professional Musician. He’s played guitar for 13 years and drums with vocals for 3-4 years. He enjoys MetalCore but he’s into a new genre of music called Nu metalcore .
