Everyone Wants To Be Famous

I will admit that there are some youtube channels that I watch everyday, but that's because those channels are geared toward my passion. I like interracial love/relationships/couples anything that has to do with interracial anything I want to know about it and or be apart of it. So, most of the channels that I have subscribed too are about that or they are about music.

But even with that, I think I'm kind of getting tired of people making channels just so they can get famous or making shitty songs and putting them online just so some can notice and they can get their TV SHOW. A TV show that will last maybe not even a whole season and then fade out. No one will give a shit after its over. And no one will be brighter or more intelligent for having watched it. Prime example: Jersey Shore. Although, I don't believe they started off on the internet.

Why don't I like that show? Because its a waste of time. Its just a bunch of people acting like idiots. If I wanted to watch people act like fools I could just go downtown and watch a homeless man try to get money from some rich snotty lawyer or something.

And when you think about it. When you get cable you pay extra money to have those extra channels of shit. Most of the channels today are just that, shit. They don't help you learn anything. They don't help you gain any new insight to something that you may have thought about. They just produce these horrible shows just so 1. someone can get their 15 seconds of fame and 2. So they can STEAL your money while you sit around worrying about what "the situation" did and said in the last episode. Its sad.

Now, I'm not saying that back in the day I didn't have my fair share of entertainment too. I use to watch the REAL WORLD faithfully. I would even watch reruns. I knew every character. I knew every episode by heart until I started to read about some of the characters on TV in real life. And found out that "HEY!" why should I admire them or give them credit or drool over them just because they are on TV? Just because you are TV doesn't make you a celebrity. And even if you were one why should anything you say or do matter to me? Its not like if I met you, you would even 1. take the time out to say hello and 2. Even if you did, would you remember my name?

Probably not.

That's the problem with my generation. Everyone wants to be "FAMOUS" remember me! I want to be great. I want to be seen. I want to perfect in everyone else's eyes. I want people to know my name. I want to be like "BEYONCE."

OH yeah? Then you are going to have to work to get to Beyonce status, sweetheart. Blood, sweat and tears. You are not going to be a celebrity overnight. I have never met Beyonce so I don't really know what her life is like or if she had to struggle. But I have been watching her over the years from way back when she was in destiny's child and the one thing I can say about her is that: she never gave up. She wanted to make money. She wanted to make music and she stuck with it. Even when her group plans fell apart.

I guess, I get annoyed when I see the kids at my school taking life so seriously. For example: When we have a talent show. You should see the students get up there and really make that moment their ENTIRE world. As if, they were on American Idol fighting for their ONE OPPORTUNITY and fame and fortune. Sorry. Sweety. Its just a talent show. And I promise next week no one will really care about what song you sung or how good you were.

I know its a sad reality. We are moving away from real talent. Talent is dancing on stage in high heels without breaking your ankle and or falling off the stage. Talent is being able to hear a song on the radio and then play it on a piano or guitar in the radio version and in the version that they created just for fun.

When you take your passion and turn it into something serious, you forget why you loved to sing in the first place. Why you loved to play tennis or even why you loved to dance. Fame makes people loves their love for their passion.

Sure, I like to do runaway. I think I have the legs for it. I like the attention when I'm on the stage. Modeling would be fun for me (even though I have theories about it) but is it BEST for me? No. Why? Because eventually people will just start to see me as dollar signs. Even if modeling was my passion it wouldn't be my passion for very long because the joy of just being me would be taken out of it. People would start wanting me to do this and try that and move like this and slowly they would turn me into the kind of model (PERSON, WOMAN) that they wanted to see. Instead of what made them like me in the first place: me.

It would be nice to have money. Just enough to pay the one or two bills that I have. Help my grandmother and aunt. And even give back to those who have helped me along the way. But I wouldn't "sell my soul" just to be famous so I could make that happen. Because even if I did that, but I changed as a person, then there wouldn't be anyone in my corner to give back too anyway because they would have all seen me for the fake person that I would be if I did that.
