Music Inspirations For The Youth

His name is Ryan J.Dexter. 

He's from Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

He was 17 when he wrote his first song. The first person he let hear his written work was his younger cousin Antonio. He attended North Western Middle and Zachary High where he learned to read and write music.

Performances & Hidden Talents

He has performed his music at a few showcases in the New Orleans area. The show he most remembers was this pass February for All Star Weekend: The Artist Against Violence Showcase, hosted by Cipher Code Music Group. He mostly remembers being on stage and the amount of adrenaline he felt while performing. Since it was close to his hometown of Baton Rouge it made for a enjoyable experience as well. 

His other talents and gifts are that he is also an advanced snare drummer and percussionist. He first learned drums and percussion while attending Zachary High in the 10th grade. He also is a producer and product developer. He began music production in August of 2008 and product development in March of 2016.

He reflects on the best advice he was given in his career. He says it would be to: "invest in the product I'm promoting and to invest in exclusive tracks from producers as a Artist."

The music industry is constantly being influenced so, if he could change one thing about the music industry now it would be to: incorporate music production programs into high schools, and to allow a broader curriculum for students interested in careers in the music entertainment/production field. He believes this would increase the transition of graduates into career choices that better fit their personalities and goals.

In the different roles that he plays he would say his greatest strength as a songwriter: is his ability to bring substance to the tracks he is recording on by fitting the sounds incorporated to a certain theme or concept to create the hook of the songs he writes. As a percussionist: he has great timing which allows him to flow at a more rhythmic pace. And lastly he feels he has a strong ear for creating melodies that are memorable.

He will be a performing Artist on the 713 WeAreTheCity Tour this summer from June- Aug. He is also a product ambassador for Karat Bars International. He gives clients access to gold bullion and creative ways to save funds in the form of business trading cards or coins as well.
